We’re pleased to say that our third episode of the Fiddleblack podcast features a story by Dane Elcar. Published last month in Fiddleblack #11, Elcar’s story “The Sespe” is an unsettling, memorable summer listen.

We’ve paired “The Sespe” with a bit of a unique soundscape time, deviating from our previous usage of original music and instead partnering with UK experimental label Touch to bring you Elcar’s intimate reading overtop a mix of tracks from BJNilsen, Biosphere, Fennesz and others.

You’ll hear that woolly noise and washes of ambient sound pair surprisingly well with angular hillsides in the Sespe Wilderness.
