In our mission statement, we briefly outline what it means when we throw around the term “antipastoral” or, perhaps pretentiously, “the antipastoral.” We’re a literary journal. It’s fair to be abstruse, right?

Antipastoralism makes up a tiny school of literary theory. A genre, even, that is one-half the flagship love of this journal. Rather than only encouraging our exploratory readers to discover its fundamentals through citation, we think the above diagram (we’re calling it a dialogue) illustrates this pretty well.
